Job summary

Electric Power Systems seeks a Sr. Relay Technician to perform and supervise electrical testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of relays in power stations. You will use relay test equipment and lead safety briefings on site.

Responsibilities include analyzing protection schemes, testing relay panels, interacting with customers, and issuing final test results and as-built documentation. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background check required.
• Willing to travel and work overtime.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job site and mitigate hazards.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and function testing of substation control circuits on relay panels.
• Perform end-to-end relay testing using relay test software and analyze fault types.
• Lead investigations of electrical issues and root causes as needed.
• Calibrate and test protective relays for substations.
• Interface with customers and deliver final test results and as-built prints.
