Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join our Substation South Group. The role involves designing protection and control projects for electric utilities from 12kV to 500kV, with opportunities to work across transmission and distribution systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation protection and control design and/or field testing experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years in substation protection and control design and/or field testing/commissioning.
• Experience executing substation protection and control projects for electric utilities.
• Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings such as one-line and three-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design and planning activities for electric transmission, distribution, and substation facilities, including one-line, schematics, and wiring designs.
• Prepare studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems, with quality control checks on wiring designs.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with clients to meet project needs.
• Support full project lifecycle from scoping to final design and implementation, including construction support.
