Job summary

Leidos seeks a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join the Substation South Group in a hybrid role based in Atlanta. You will design protection and control schemes for 12kV–500kV utilities and prepare related studies and reports, collaborating with an experienced team.

You will work across transmission and distribution projects, read one-line and schematic drawings, and support the full project lifecycle from scoping to implementation. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience in substation protection and control design.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams and schematics.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and Portland, OR office as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control drawings for projects.
• Prepare studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems.
• Coordinate with local clients and cross-functional teams.
• Support the full project lifecycle from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Ensure compliance with design standards and NEC requirements.
