Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join the South Group. You will design protection and control systems for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV up to 500kV, using digital logic and AC/DC circuit knowledge.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in offices and 2–3 days on site, plus strong collaboration and continuous development. You will prepare wiring designs, one-line diagrams, and studies for transmission and distribution, while supporting project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation protection & control design or field testing/commissioning.
• Senior/Lead: 6+ years in substation protection & control design or testing.
• Experience executing substation protection and control projects.
• Ability to read and design protection and control drawings such as one-line / three-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design and planning activities for substation protection and control projects.
• Prepare single-lines, schematics, wiring designs for substations and perform quality checks.
• Develop studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to meet project needs.
