Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a mid-level Protection and Control Engineer to lead P&C design for HV substations in renewable energy projects.

You will coordinate with relay, SCADA, and device integration teams to deliver complete project deliverables in line with stakeholder requirements. The role requires a BS in electrical engineering and 4+ years of HV substation P&C design experience, with strong knowledge of protection schemes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a strong background in HV substations.
• 4+ years of work experience in high voltage substation P&C design.
• Knowledge of protection schemes, relay coordination, and equipment specs.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and NERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead P&C design for HV (4kV–230kV) and EHV substation projects.
• Develop drawings (one-lines, three-lines, schematics) and BOMs.
• Compute station service loads, transformer sizing, and DC load calculations.
• Review vendor submittals and coordinate multi-discipline checks.
• Attend meetings and support procurement and construction tasks.
