Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager for the Substation Engineering team in the South Central Region. You will lead multi-client projects, drive profitable growth, and provide leadership to a high-performing team focused on safety, client satisfaction and quality.

The role requires strong experience in substations, project controls, and risk management, with the ability to manage scope, schedule and cost while coordinating across disciplines. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of applicable experience in project management for substations or similar.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across large projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%).
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management and document control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budget and achieve critical project objectives for substation projects.
• Ensure overall project success in safety, quality and profitability.
• Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, including siting, permitting and procurement.
• Collaborate with project team to meet client satisfaction and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts.
• Support development of profitable growth and project controls systems.
• Provide guidance on risk, cost controls and staffing.
