Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer II - Physical to join our electric substation design team. This role spans projects from 12kV to 500kV and requires applying NESC, NEC, IEEE and other standards to deliver safe, constructible designs.

A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and 2–5 years of substation experience are required; EIT/PE is a plus. Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of substation physical design projects with general guidance from senior staff.
• Prepare substation design deliverables including general arrangements, layouts, and cable routing plans.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design across all elements.
• Perform studies such as grounding design and lightning protection to ensure safe operation.
• Support procurement, submittals, RFIs, and field data collection.
