Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer II - Physical in Lansdale, PA to join our electric substation design team.

You will design projects from 12kV to 500kV, applying NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ASCE standards while producing plans, layouts, and cable routing. You will work with senior staff to develop deliverables, perform analyses, and support equipment specifications, project coordination, and field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in substation or related power engineering.
• Ability to apply engineering principles with limited supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).
• Experience with design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of substation physical design projects with guidance from senior staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design packages.
• Prepare substation design deliverables including general arrangements and layouts.
• Apply engineering principles to field data and develop practical design solutions.
• Perform studies such as grounding design and lightning protection evaluation.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines to ensure alignment across design elements.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to collect data.
