Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. (Westwood) is seeking a Substation Engineer II - Physical in Overland Park, KS. You will contribute to the design of substations from 12kV to 500kV and work with standards like NESC/NEC/IEEE.

Responsibilities include supporting design packages, preparing layouts, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, constructible solutions. ABET-accredited degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in substation or related power engineering.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world design problems with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of substation physical design projects with guidance from senior staff.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary project team to develop integrated substation design packages.
• Prepare substation physical design deliverables including general arrangements, layouts, and cable routing plans.
• Apply engineering principles to interpret field data and develop practical design solutions.
