Job summary

City of Kinston seeks an experienced supervisor to lead substation operations, SCADA, and related electrical systems. You will plan projects, allocate resources and oversee repairs and upgrades while ensuring safety compliance and budget adherence.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with consulting engineers and suppliers, and help develop long-range capital plans to improve system reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of electric distribution and substation systems.
• Experience supervising a crew and coordinating with engineers.
• Ability to read technical drawings and plans related to substations.
• Knowledge of safety practices and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise substation operations and related equipment.
• Direct maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of SCADA and substation assets.
• Hire, train, coach and evaluate assigned staff; manage budget needs.
• Coordinate with engineers and suppliers on installation and expansion projects.
• Develop long-range capital plans and ensure regulatory compliance.
