Job summary

City of Cleveland seeks a Chief Electric Transmission Operator to lead daily system operations, monitor SCADA, and manage shift reports. The role involves supervising junior and senior operators, ensuring accurate logs and KW calculations, and maintaining reliability standards across PJM and RFC guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 4 years’ experience with electrical control equipment, and at least one current NERC certification (RC/BT/TO) with PJM certification

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED. Four years’ experience operating electrical control equipment; college credit may substitute.
• Must hold at least one NERC certification: RC, BT, or TO; PJM Transmission System Operator certification preferred.
• Rotating shifts including weekends/holidays and valid OH Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Operate daily system operations as a shift, monitor SCADA screens, and report alarms.
• Supervise and train junior operators and ensure accurate log sheets and KW hour calculations.
• Maintain compliance with NERC RFC reliability standards and PJM manuals; communicate via phone/radio as needed.
