Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. seeks a Substation Supervisor at the Washington Boyce, PA Service Center to oversee substation construction and maintenance activities.

The role emphasizes safety leadership and supervision of transmission and distribution work in a fast-paced utility environment. The position requires strong knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, supervisory experience, and the ability to coordinate crews during emergencies and outages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5–7 years of electrical field experience.
• Experience supervising substation activities and personnel.
• Advanced knowledge of transmission and distribution systems; able to coach and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
• Directing and supervising employees engaged in above and below grade electric transmission and distribution construction work
• Directing Substation workers in installation/removal of breakers, switches, transformers, bus work and related structures
• Responding to emergencies and supporting public safety and system reliability
• Supervising and dispatching service restoration crews during major storms
• Coordinating equipment, tools, materials, and supplies; coordinating with other departments
• Providing sound internal and external customer service and coaching employees to meet performance standards
• Administering Absenteeism Management Program and Regional Safety Plan
• Other duties as assigned
