Job summary

FirstEnergy's Potomac Edison is seeking a Substation Supervisor to lead planning, scheduling, and oversight of substation construction and maintenance projects. The role involves guiding field teams, coordinating resources, and ensuring regulatory compliance while maintaining safety as a core value.

The position requires strong leadership, budget management, and proficiency with tools like Cascade, SAP, GIS, CREWS, FEWS, and AutoCAD. Travel to various facilities may be requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Engineering Tech or related field with 4+ years of related work experience.
• Awareness of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC).
• Ability to interpret work requests, drawings, schematics to develop accurate work plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work with all levels of staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise planning, scheduling, and monitoring of substation projects.
• Lead weekly work plan meetings and allocate labor resources.
• Review capital orders for time, material, and invoices; manage budgets.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams; provide status updates.
• Maintain Cascade data and provide training and support.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across activities.
