Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Substation Supervisor in Mississippi to direct and supervise the planning, lay-out, installation, testing, repair, or maintenance of high voltage substation wiring and related equipment across generating stations and substations.

You will lead craft workers, enforce safety programs, and coordinate scheduling, materials, and crew performance to meet project goals safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must have working experience as a Substation Journeyman or equivalent combination of education and experience in an industrial construction setting.
• Strong working knowledge of the project specifications and high voltage electrical and civil industry standards.”
• Must be able to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the crew.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the planning, lay-out, installation, testing, repair, or maintenance of substation wiring and equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and safety planning for crew members.
• Inspect work for compliance with contract plans, specs, and industry standards.
• Ensure safe operation and daily equipment inspections and accurate timekeeping.
