Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician I to support inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment in transmission and distribution substations. You will work under experienced technicians, perform hands-on tasks, and follow strict safety standards to develop foundational substation operation skills.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, collaboration, and hands-on learning while contributing to reliable power systems across North America.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level field role focusing on testing and maintenance under supervision.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies and PPE usage in substation environments.
  • Participate in safety trainings and daily job briefings.
  • Assist with entry-level testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment.
  • Support inspection, testing, and maintenance of breakers, transformers, and instruments.
  • Help verify equipment readiness by following test plans and procedures.
  • Document work performed and maintain records of inspections and maintenance.
  • Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to learn proper techniques.
