Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking an entry-level electrical substation technician to perform on-site testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs at customer facilities within the region.

The role requires reading manuals and schematics, troubleshooting, and working with high-voltage equipment in power transmission and distribution environments. A high school diploma or GED is required; an Electrical/Electronic Technology degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Electrical/Electronic Technology degree preferred.
• Experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning preferred but not required.
• Willingness to relocate within 60 miles of the hiring regional office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and write diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Participates in safety meetings and training.
