Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Construction Project Manager for our Construction Department. The role focuses on ensuring constructability aligns with client expectations, regulatory compliance, budget, scheduling, and safety goals on electric utility substation projects.

You will coordinate with EPC contractors, site teams, and client representatives to deliver projects safely and on time, reporting daily to weekly and monthly progress while navigating NERC/FERC requirements.

Qualifications

• Technical school and/or bachelor's degree.
• 7 to 10 years of experience with electric utility substation construction projects.
• Knowledge of NERC and FERC compliance regulations.
• Ability and willingness to perform regular field work indoors and outdoors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, business acumen, and management ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to document critical reports under PM direction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English due to safety materials and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Project Site contact for EPC Contractor, landowners, subcontractors and related activities.
• Monitor EPC contractor safety performance.
• Direct the CM staff to manage Construction Management Services (CMS).
• Assist in site review of contractor components and owner supplied equipment.
• Support Owner in EPC contractor milestone compliance review.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Coordinate with EPC contractor representative for clear timely communication of issues.
• Review schedule extensions, weather delays, recovery plans and baselines.
