Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead construction activities for electric distribution projects. The role ensures constructability aligns with Qualus and client quality standards, maintains safety and regulatory compliance, and oversees contractor work at the project site.

Responsibilities include coordinating crews, scheduling outages, ensuring adherence to contracts and technical specs, and communicating project status to stakeholders from the jobsite to the service center.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution and substation construction.
• Thorough knowledge of company work, environmental, and safety practices.
• Ability to travel to multiple project sites within West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple electric contractor crews, for distribution line construction.
• Facilitates the installation of electric infrastructure and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications and governmental regulations are met.
• Manages work to ensure that all performance objectives for cycle time and cost are on target.
• Oversees and directs contractors performing upgrades and replacements to reclosures, capacitor banks, regulator banks, and pole/circuit rebuilds on energized lines.
• Makes the necessary field decisions regarding job changes and communicates them as necessary to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; documents all job changes to ensure compliance and ensures the updates get documented in the appropriate information technology systems.
• Schedules and coordinates all required electric system outages.
• Maintains customer coordination during construction phase and conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.
• Reports to service center, jobsite, or remote location.
