Job summary

Powerserve Technologies is seeking a Substation Estimator – Power Delivery to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for EPC projects in the electric utility sector. You will work on substations (Above/Below Grade), transmission lines, and BESS facilities across greenfield and brownfield environments.

The role supports business development, project execution, and risk management by developing detailed cost models and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of estimating experience in power delivery projects such as High Voltage Substations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of EPC contracting and project delivery models.
• Knowledge of labor productivity and cost drivers in utility construction.
• Experience with BESS or renewable energy infrastructure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates for high-voltage substations, transmission line projects, and BESS facilities.
• Develop estimates for greenfield and brownfield construction, including live substation work and outage-constrained environments.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and models.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontract, and indirect cost estimates.
• Evaluate construction means and methods, sequencing, and productivity assumptions.
• Support design-build, EPC, EPCM, and negotiated project delivery methods; participate in estimate reviews and bid strategy development.
