Job summary

The AES Corporation is offering an engineering co‑op for Spring 2027 with AES Ohio Substation Engineering. You will gain practical experience in designing electrical substations and supporting staff engineers on layouts, one-line diagrams, and protection schematics.

We seek a student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with a solid academic record and CAD/MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Sophomore or higher standing preferred with strong academic background and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with staff engineers to design components of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts and one-line diagrams.
• Assist in producing detailed engineering design packages per AES Ohio standards (IEEE, NERC, etc.).
• Complete additional assignments as determined by supervisor.
