Job summary

AES Ohio is offering an engineering co-op internship for Fall 2027 on the Substation Engineering team. The intern will gain practical experience in substation design, working with staff engineers on 12kV–345kV projects.

Eligible students are pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with Sophomore or higher standing and strong attention to detail. CAD and MS Office proficiency is preferred. AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Sophomore year or higher preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts and diagrams.
• Help produce detailed engineering design packages in accordance with industry standards (IEEE, NERC).
• Complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
