Job summary

AES Ohio Substation Engineering is offering a Summer 2027 internship for Electrical Engineering students. You will collaborate with staff engineers to design parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts, one-line diagrams, and protection schematics.

The role provides hands-on experience with CAD, creating detailed design packages in line with IEEE and NERC standards, and completing assignments under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Academic standing Sophomore or higher preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Assist in producing detailed engineering design packages per AES Ohio and industry standards (IEEE, NERC).
• Complete additional assignments as directed by supervisor.
