Job summary

AES Ohio Substation Engineering is offering a Spring 2027 engineering co-op. This role provides practical experience in substation design and electrical systems.

You will assist staff engineers with 12kV–345kV substations, create layouts, one-line diagrams, and protection schemes, and prepare detailed design packages.

Candidates pursuing a four-year Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering degree, preferably Sophomore or higher, with CAD and MS Office skills, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
• CAD proficiency and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing parts of 12kV through 345kV substations.
• Produce detailed engineering design packages per IEEE/NERC standards.
• Complete additional assignments as determined by supervisor.
