Job summary

AES Ohio Substation Engineering is offering a spring 2027 engineering co-op. You will work with staff engineers to design parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts, one-line diagrams, protection schematics, and wiring diagrams.

You will help produce detailed engineering design packages aligned with AES Ohio and industry standards (IEEE, NERC). The role provides practical experience in substation design and CAD tools while developing professional skills in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Sophomore or higher standing preferred.
• CAD and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing parts of 12kV through 345kV substations, including layouts and diagrams.
• Support in producing detailed engineering design packages per IEEE/NERC standards.
• Complete additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
