Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company (APS) seeks motivated individuals for its Pre-Apprentice Substation Electrician program. The role supports Substation Electrician crews, assists with transformers, circuit breakers, switches, capacitors, and other high‑voltage equipment while rotating through APS areas to gain experience.

Applicants must have a valid CDL Class A, pass the CAST aptitude test, and be able to work at heights and in aerial devices.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with no airbrakes restrictions.
• Must successfully pass Edison EEI CAST Aptitude test.
• Must be physically able to climb and work at heights and operate aerial devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Substation Electrician crews with maintaining and repairing high‑voltage equipment.
• Rotate through areas within APS to gain hands-on experience in the Substation Electrician apprenticeship track.
• Follow safety procedures and document work as required.
