Job summary

Arizona Public Service invites applicants to join its Pre-Apprentice Lineman program in the Phoenix metro area, Casa Grande, and Yuma. The Pre-Apprentice will assist Journeymen Linemen with rigging, operate hydraulic tools, drive bucket trucks, install poles, and work in confined spaces.

Candidates must meet basic qualifications, including age, HS diploma, US work authorization, a valid Class A CDL, and math/completion of required courses.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL (airbrakes not allowed).
• Must have completed college algebra, technical math, or equivalent ACE/AP/CLEP pathway.
• Must be physically able to perform line work and climb structures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Journeymen Linemen with rigging and ground tasks.
• Operate hydraulic tools and boom truck & forklift.
• Drive bucket trucks and install poles.
• Work in trenches and confined spaces.
