Job summary

VHB seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead (physical electrical) with extensive substation experience to join our Energy Engineering practice. The role collaborates with civil, structural, environmental, planning, and regulatory teams to design, permit, and deliver energy projects in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate will lead substation projects, mentor staff, and manage drawings, calculations, and reports while supporting construction and client relations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in substations.
• Experience working in the northeastern U.S. is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, client-facing skills, and ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the electrical engineering service for substations.
• Engage in business development and client relations.
• Oversee physical electrical drawings, layouts, and calculations; provide technical guidance.
