Job summary
VHB is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to drive design and delivery of substation projects within the Energy Evolution Practice. Hybrid work across VHB offices, with strong client management and seller-doer responsibilities.
The role requires 8+ years in electrical engineering, substations, and leadership, plus proficiency with ETAP, CDEGS, and AutoCAD. You will mentor staff and lead multidisciplinary teams while growing business opportunities.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; MS a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years in electrical substation work is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow electrical engineering services for substations.
- Engage in business development and client relations.
- Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
- Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and act as client-facing contact.
- Develop/review electrical drawings, layouts, calculations, and specs.
- Support construction through site visits and review of RFIs/submittals.
- Monitor and manage project financial performance.
- Mentor staff and develop team skills.
