Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Substation Electrical Engineer Intern to join the Substation Department. The internship offers hands-on design experience in high‑voltage substations and mentorship from experienced engineers in a collaborative consulting environment.

You will support design, drawings, and calculations for utility and renewable energy projects, with opportunities for site visits and real‑world data collection. Hybrid work may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with at least two years of coursework by Summer 2027.
• Experience or coursework in electrical power systems is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support high‑voltage substation design work (69kV–500kV) and protection and control.
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
• Receive mentorship to complete tasks aligned with schedules and client expectations.
• Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and training sessions.
• Potential site visits for data collection and field exposure.
• Contribute to designs supporting utility and renewable energy clients.
