Job summary

Ulteig in the United States is seeking a Substation Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Substation Department for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands‑on experience in high‑voltage substation design and exposure to protection and control concepts within a collaborative consulting environment.

You will support engineering teams, assist in drawings, calculations, and documentation, and participate in design reviews and training sessions.

The Opportunity

This internship is ideal for a motivated individual looking to expand their technical and communication skills while contributing to impactful projects in the utility and renewable power markets. Interns will gain hands‑on experience in high‑voltage substation design while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative consulting environment.

What You'll Do

• Support engineering teams with assignments related to high‑voltage substation design, including physical design (69kV–500kV) and protection and control
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation for project deliverables
• Receive clear instruction and mentorship to complete tasks aligned with project schedules and client expectations
• Participate in internal design reviews, team meetings, and training sessions
• Potential opportunities for site visits to support field data collection and gain exposure to real‑world infrastructure
• Contribute to engineering designs that support both utility and renewable energy clients

What You'll Gain

• Must be available to work full‑time during Summer 2027 at one of our office locations

• Hybrid work arrangements may be available depending on location and business needs

• Potential to continue internship through the school year based on performance and business needs

Additional Opportunity Details

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $28 - $30/hr. *
