Job summary

Ulteig is seeking Substation Electrical Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 in its Substation Department. This internship offers hands-on experience in high-voltage substation design, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to utility and renewable energy projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with two years of coursework, with strong communication and detail orientation, and available to work full-time in Summer 2027, with possible hybrid

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with at least two years of coursework completed by Summer 2027.
Experience or coursework in electrical power systems is a plus.
Must be available to work full-time Summer 2027 in-office; hybrid may be available depending on location and business needs.

Responsibilities

Support engineering teams with assignments related to high‑voltage substation design, including physical design (69kV-500kV) and protection and control.
Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation for project deliverables.
Receive clear instruction and mentorship to complete tasks aligned with project schedules and client expectations.
Participate in internal design reviews, team meetings, and training sessions.
Potential opportunities for site visits to support field data collection and gain exposure to real-world infrastructure.
Contribute to engineering designs that support both utility and renewable energy clients.
