Substation DesignerHelp Build the Future of the Electric Grid

As energy demand continues to grow, so does the need for reliable, resilient power infrastructure. We're seeking a Substation Designer who wants to make a real impact by helping design the substations that power communities, support critical industries, and enable the next generation of energy technology.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and industry experts on transmission, distribution, grid modernization, and large-scale infrastructure projects. From supporting utility upgrades to powering new data centers, your work will directly contribute to the future of energy delivery.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and refine electrical substation layouts and design packages for utility and power delivery projects.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to create safe, efficient, and reliable substation solutions.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remaining time working remotely. You'll be part of a collaborative engineering team focused on solving complex power delivery challenges and creating infrastructure that keeps communities and businesses connected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tucson, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.

Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
