Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer - Substation to lead physical substation layouts, grounding, and protection schemes. You will develop drawings, calculations and BOMs while ensuring safety and quality standards across multiple projects.

Join a collaborative team within Quanta Services, with opportunities to advance through bands as you gain experience and master new skills. Travel to sites will be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the FE exam is desirable; required for the Design Engineer 4 band.
• Knowledge of substation components and design standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components including yard layouts and grounding.
• Develop protection and control schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Create design drawings, calculations and BOMs.
• Perform engineering calculations (voltage drop, grounding, etc.).
• Ensure NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE/ANSI compliance.
• Conduct quality reviews and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel for project accuracy.
• Maintain project documentation and calculations.
• Travel to project sites up to 10–25% as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
