Job summary

AES Indiana is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to join the Indianapolis, Indiana office. The role spans design and implementation of substation projects from 13.2kV to 345kV. All experience levels considered; compensation commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will perform studies, layout, foundation and structural design, BOM development, and civil/site work. Collaboration with a multi-discipline team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer registration or plan to become registered preferred.
• Good English communication, written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day substation engineering projects and studies.
• Perform design calculations for installation of equipment.
• Create general arrangement drawings, plans, grounding and bus work calculations.
• Develop foundation and structural designs and BOMs.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline team members and stakeholders.
• Support construction activities with technical direction when required.
