Job summary

AES Indiana seeks a Substation Design Engineer to design and implement substation projects from 13.2kV to 345kV in our Indianapolis, IN offices. The role involves studies, calculations, and reviews to ensure reliable, cost-effective designs.

Open to all experience levels; Civil/Mechanical/Electrical background and AutoCAD skills are preferred. PE registration is encouraged as you contribute to powering communities and advancing engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to work as a team member and independently.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of substation design projects.
• Perform design calculations and engineering studies for new/replacement equipment.
• Create/review general arrangement, electrical, grounding, conduit, and bus work plans.
• Develop foundations and structural designs; prepare BOMs.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams and assist procurement/ construction activities.
