Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer I to perform substation design, including layout and protection & control systems, ensuring safety and construction standards. You will work with engineers and field staff on projects across the QISG platform in Atlanta, GA.

The role offers growth through four bands as you gain experience, with responsibilities spanning design, calculations, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the FE exam is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components and layouts including grounding and protection.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and panel layouts.
• Produce design drawings, calculations and BOMs from engineering documents.
• Perform engineering calculations: voltage drop, cable pulling, flicker, grounding.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Maintain project documentation and support engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure accuracy.
• Identify and raise potential project issues with stakeholders.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required.
