Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to design and support substation projects in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. You will perform detailed electrical designs, field verifications, and coordinate with engineering, construction, and vendors.

Responsibilities include producing final design packages, material bills, and design changes while mentoring drafters and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Travel between MA/CT/NH may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs using computer-aided techniques.
• Develop final detailed design packages for projects through discussions with engineering & construction personnel, design disciplines, and outside vendors.
• Prepare conceptual designs and sketches based on field investigations and project criteria.
• Perform field visits during the design process to verify site conditions and design accuracy.
• Provide guidance, training, and direction to design drafters in developing finished drawings.
• Perform technical calculations for substation designs.
• Prepare, approve, and maintain bills of materials and other supporting documents for design drawing development.
• Review and approve vendor projects and provide design input to engineers for project development.
• Provide design services to support federal, state, and local license submittals.
