Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a design-focused engineer to join our Electrical Design team. You will design and support substation projects in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, utilizing CAD tools and collaborating with engineers, construction, and vendors.

You will prepare detailed designs, perform field verifications, and support department standards while handling design changes and as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, and understanding of one-line, three-lines, and schematics.
• AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience preferred.
• Ability to apply drafting standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs using computer-aided techniques.
• Prepare final design packages with engineering, construction, and vendor input.
• Create conceptual designs and sketches from field investigations and project scope.
• Perform site visits to verify conditions and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance to design drafters and review drawings.
• Perform technical calculations for substation designs.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials and related documents.
• Review and approve design changes for field-related problems.
• Verify as-built conditions of design documents.
