Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and support substation projects in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. You will develop detailed engineering designs, create design packages with engineering, construction, and vendors, and perform field verifications.

The role requires an associate degree in electronic engineering technology or related electrical experience, knowledge of electrical systems, and AutoCAD awareness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronic engineering technology or 2–4 years of related electrical experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems: wiring, one-line, three-lines, and schematics.
• Prefer working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs using computer-aided techniques.
• Prepare final design packages through discussions with engineering, construction personnel, and outside vendors.
• Conduct field investigations to verify site conditions and design accuracy.
• Provide guidance to design drafters and review design changes.
• Verify as-built conditions and assist in developing department standards.
