Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an Associate Engineer to support electric substation construction projects for Transmission and Distribution. You will define scope, assist in budget and schedules, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team through design and execution.

The role requires organizing projects, meeting schedules, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. A BS in Electrical Engineering and 0–3 years of related experience are preferred; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of substation engineering or related electric utility experience.
• Familiarity with substation equipment such as transformers, breakers, switchgear and controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Apply standard engineering techniques on complex substation projects and prioritize concurrent work.
• Develop and approve project scopes, designs, details, material orders and cost estimates.
• Hire and oversee contract engineering firms, review submittals, and approve invoices.
• Coordinate with design and drafting teams to prepare and review engineering drawings for projects.
• Support planning, budget approvals, regulatory submittals, and project closeout with multiple departments.
