Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Substation Construction Manager to lead construction oversight for 12kV+ substations and related projects. You will coordinate with electric contractor crews to meet safety, quality, and schedule targets on greenfield and brownfield sites, traveling as needed to serve client needs.

The role requires deep knowledge of electrical construction practices, OSHA standards, and contract compliance, with strong collaboration across client teams and internal departments.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of Company work, environmental, and safety practices, including a working knowledge of electric operations, and the ability to maintain or obtain switching and outage authorization.
• In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution and substation construction.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe/Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Provides construction oversight and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple electric contractor crews, for substation and distribution line project work.
• Facilitates the installation of electric infrastructure and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications and governmental regulations are met.
• Manages work to ensure that all performance objectives for cycle time and cost are on target.
• Oversees and directs contractors performing electric cable installations and electric cut-ins.
• Coordinates permit and work-with requirements with third party utilities and permit agencies.
