Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Construction Manager to oversee a multiyear substation project supporting a large data center in the Rayville/Delhi area. You will lead subcontractor crews in construction and commissioning, drive performance against production, quality, safety, and schedule goals, and maintain QA/QC across all project phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractor crews in construction and commissioning of a substation for a large data center.
• Drive performance to meet production, quality, safety, and schedule goals.
• Oversee field activities ensuring work aligns with documents and standards.
• Manage a team of up to ~25 people on site with direction and support.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote a strong on-site safety culture.
• Maintain QA/QC across all phases of substation construction.
• Verify subcontractor work meets contract requirements and specs.
• Monitor progress and report production, issues, and risks using standard tools.
• Support change management and document scope/condition changes.
• Assist with risk management and mitigation planning.
• Coordinate construction meetings with stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Communicate regularly with project team to align schedule and expectations.
• Use reporting tools to track work and maintain project docs.
• Support transmission, distribution, and substation construction activities as needed.
