Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll split three days in the office and two days remotely, focusing on drafting and CAD work within a collaborative design team.

You’ll gain hands-on training in AutoCAD 3D and MicroStation, while using Sargent & Lundy’s proprietary design databases. You’ll create scaled master sketches and may join client walkdowns to collect design data.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings from design input.
• Apply CAD skills with hands-on training in 3D design software such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation; learn proprietary design databases.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications.
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns to gather information for designs.
• Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and support design adjustments.
