Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a drafting-focused professional to join our multi-disciplinary team in the drafting/design group. You will develop design drawings from input and create scaled master sketches showing installations in relation to existing facilities, ensuring precise specifications and dimensions.

You will collaborate with experienced designers on client sites, potentially visiting facilities and explaining drawings to vendors to support design adjustments while gaining hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years of experience with computer drafting tools; MicroStation preferred, AutoCAD acceptable.
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design.
• Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without a computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings based on input within a multi-disciplined team.
• Create master sketches to scale showing installation relations and exact specs.
• Assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns for information gathering.
• Explain drawings to vendors/contractors to guide design adjustments.
