Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a drafting role with a hybrid work arrangement in New Jersey. You’ll join a multi-disciplinary team to prepare design drawings from design input.

You’ll use AutoCAD and MicroStation, gain hands-on training, and produce master sketches showing installations in relation to existing facilities. Travel to client sites may be required for data gathering and coordination with vendors to refine drawings.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings from input.
• Apply CAD skills and receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments like AutoCAD 3D and MicroStation; learn proprietary databases.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of installations to existing facilities with exact specs.
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on client walkdowns to gather information for design projects.
• Interface with vendors/contractors to explain drawings for design adjustments.
