Job summary

PacifiCorp in Evanston, Wyoming is seeking an apprentice-level substation worker to operate, construct, and maintain substations and associated equipment under supervision.

Responsibilities include installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, performing inspections, and following safety and documentation practices. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to obtain a Class A CDL; lifting up to 50 pounds is required. 100% onsite.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work at heights and inside substation apparatus.
• Electrical theory training including AC & DC circuits and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and overhaul substation apparatus at switchyards and substations.
• Perform substation inspections and documentation for all equipment.
• Install and maintain panel instrumentation; assist in protective relaying and metering equipment.
• Use testing equipment for diagnostics and testing of breakers, transformers, and related systems.
• Work from blueprints and manuals to install and maintain electrical/mechanical systems.
• Perform welding and operate shop equipment for maintenance of equipment.
