PacifiCorp seeks an Apprentice Substation to work under supervision on the operation, maintenance, and testing of substations, switchyards, and related equipment at Richfield, UT. You will assist journeymen with installation, inspections, and documentation while developing electrical skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Electrical theory training with B or better grade in AC/DC is required.
• Class A CDL is required or must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and operate substation apparatus.
• Inspect substation equipment and document activities.
• Install station service panels and protective relaying equipment; install conduit and pull wire.
• Use specialized equipment for testing and maintenance (DGA oil sampling, infrared, power factor testing).
• Read blueprints and manuals to install/maintain electrical systems.
• Perform welding and operate shop equipment for repair or manufacture of equipment.
• Operate and maintain lighting, security, HVAC systems; support emergency power units.
• Operate cranes, bucket trucks, and tow trailers for plant/substation work.
• Perform switching orders to obtain clearances for work on substations.
