Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess the Substance Use Disorder Professional credential as required by WA state.
• Education includes HS diploma or GED; an associate or bachelor’s degree related to treatment is preferred.
• WA state licensure requirements and ASAM criteria adherence are essential.

Responsibilities

• Counsel individuals requiring assistance with substance use disorder in group and individual settings.
• Communicate client needs, progress, and recommendations to treatment teams and agencies; may represent the client in court when necessary.
• Implement ASAM assessment, placement processes, and individualized treatment planning as guided by ASAM criteria.
• Provide education to clients and families through lectures, videos, written materials, and personalized media.
• Document sessions, track client progress, and ensure compliance with DOH and WAC requirements and timeliness.
