Qualifications

Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary

The Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist is responsible for the provision of clinical therapeutic services to patients assigned to the CBI Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (F/ACT) team. The specialist will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients (and their families) assigned to the F/ACT team. The role requires adherence to policy, process, and governing rules set forth by the Department of Behavioral Health Services (DBHS), Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA), Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing (BMFL), and the Code of Federal Regulations.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Health or one year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment. Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
• Preference for a Master’s Degree in a related field and licensing at the associate level with The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Psychologist, Social Worker, Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Substance Abuse Counselor.
• One to three years of full‑time health‑care related work experience with exposure to behavioral and medical crisis situations is preferred but not required.
