Job summary

Serenity Recovery Centers seeks a counselor to manage a caseload of clients in substance abuse treatment, delivering counseling, case management, and rehabilitation services in line with agency policies.

You will perform ASI evaluations and ASAM reviews, develop goals and treatment plans, and document progress. The role includes crisis intervention, group facilitation, and supporting training staff while maintaining client confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrable commitment to own recovery and, if applicable, sobriety.
• Willingness to submit to flexible schedules; if recovering, 2 years sobriety desired.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of clients in substance abuse treatment and provide counseling, case management, and rehab services per agency policy.
• Perform initial and ongoing client assessments including ASI evaluations and ASAM case reviews.
• Develop goals and treatment plans responsive to client needs; document progress and maintain records.
• Assist clients in establishing attainable goals and track progress toward them.
• Attend weekly clinical staff consultations to review level of care per ASAM criteria and client progress.
• Coordinate case management tasks including appointments and transportation.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed per policy and procedures.
• Facilitate group therapy and record group progress.
• Support Counselors in Training with organization and delivery of education sessions on recovery topics.
